Our bags are packed.
Our itinerary is printed out.
Passports all set.
Guidebook and traveller checks are at the ready.
(And yes, we’ve split the money up between J and I, if ONE MORE PERSON tells me to watch out for pickpockets… POW. Right in the kisser.*)
A lovely overnight flight… and tomorrow we’ll be in Rome!!

But before I go, I wanted to share that I met the high goddess of all things stirrups. The bartender of the fan-freaking-tastic virtual lushary. The witty, super-supportive, lovely Mel.
We met for dinner at a Thai place in the Boston area last night. We proceeded to get kicked out of there 2 hours later, as the restaurant wanted to close. We went over to Dun.kin Don.uts and ate donuts (seriously, when was the last time I had a donut? At 10pm? I think it was in college!). We got kicked out of there when THEY closed.
She is every bit as fantastic in person as she is on her blog and via email. And I’m thrilled I got a chance to meet her.
That’s about it for me, folks. A computer does not belong on an Italy holiday, so it shall remain packed away for the next week; I shall update you first thing Thursday morning, however.

*Yes, I understand that pickpocketing is rampant in Italy. And I appreciate the warnings. But really, don’t you see the irony? “Have a great time, kids! Don’t lose all your money!”

Bon Voyage, Serenity! I’m jealous that you are going to Italy AND you got to meet Mel! How freakin’ exciting.
And, you guys must have been out late because around here I don’t think the Dun.kin Do.nuts closes. Oh, and thanks I’m now dreaming of a big fat Bos.ton Cream donut!
