An update from the great state of North Carolina.

November 24, 2007

My delay on posting since Wednesday is all related to the fact that J and I are visiting my parents in North Carolina. And since I’m mostly using their computer, the LAST thing I can do is check my blog or update.

You know, I’d hate to remind them of the fact that we are, in fact, infertile. And that this pregnancy for us is especially hard-won.

*sigh*

Visit so far is going well. Thanksgiving was as much a glutton fest as I expected. I did NOT expect, however, a case of intestinal distress which had me frantically checking this website in between cramps to make sure that I could, in fact, take Immo.dium. Clearly Squishy did not enjoy the deep fried turkey – though I must say it was pretty damn good, distressing as it was to my system.

J, my dad and I went to see Beo.wulf yesterday, when my mother was out Christmas shoppping with the rest of North Carolina. Though I KNOW I had read the poem back in either high school or college, I didn’t remember any of it. Well done, over the top in many places, but visually pretty stunning. Makes me want to go back and read the poem to see if it was accurate.

Other than that there isn’t much to report. I’m feeling Squishy move a lot more regularly now – usually right when we get up, and right before bed. We can’t feel it from the outside yet, but I suppose it’s only a matter of time.

21 weeks today. I can hardly believe it.

Sorry about the unpleasant turkey after-effects! I’ve been reading through your past entries and I find your story inspiring. Hope the rest of your trip goes well.

I’ve had some post-Thanksgiving intestinal distress as well, it seems to come with the holiday for me. I hope you’re enjoying your time in North Carolina. At the least the weather’s been pretty nice!

21 weeks – over half way there!
