Baby O slept almost the entirety of the night in his carseat, in the crib. He woke up at 1am for a while, but had a bottle and J managed to get him to go back to sleep.

He woke up in a MUCH better mood then he had been the night before, thankfully.

Still. J took him to the pedi’s office this morning.

As of today:

He is 16lbs, 14oz.

He has an ear infection. Since this was his third ear infection in as many months, the pediatrician told J that at his 9 month appointment next month we’ll talk about a possible referral to an ear nose and throat specialist.

He is also cutting his bottom two teeth. (!)

So we’ll start round three of antibiotics. And hopefully he’ll feel better soon.

In the meantime. Teeth.

I have an almost-crawling baby with teeth.

When did that happen????

  1. This may sound off-the-wall, but you may be able to cure his ear infections by taking him to a good chiropractor (and there are some quacks in this field as in every other, so make sure you get some good referrals). When I was babysitting, one of the boys had had 10 ear infections in as many months (and he was exclusively breastfed and stayed at home, so no day care and ten other snotty kids to blame!), and the mother had been referred to an ENT who tried yet another round of antibiotics and then said that surgery to put tubes in his ears was the only thing that would help. She had the surgery scheduled, even, and then decided that she would try chiropractic, since she wanted to be able to say that she had tried *everything* before resorting to surgery. The pediatrician was upset and the ENT got mad, and promised her that the only thing that would help was surgery, and that chiropractic was quackery. At the time, the child had yet another ear infection… which went away within a few days of his first adjustment… and he never got another one (although his mom did take him to the chiro whenever he got a pretty hard knock on his head). The ENT said it was a fluke; the mom is a believer. (Oh, and the “baby” is now almost 14 years old, and the mom still goes and takes the kids [the youngest is 8], and the two youngest boys had few or even no ear infections as infants.)

  2. Poor baby O. The teeth aren’t helping things I suspect.
    Poor Mom and Dad.

  3. We have a sick baby, with teeth that should pop any day now and who crawled for the first time tonight. Go Baby O! Watch out because Baby M did it for the first time tonight and within minutes he was all over the place. Looks like I’ll be spending a good part of Thanksgiving baby proofing!

  4. Crawling!!! YEA!
    Teeth!!!! YEA!!! (ouch..LOL)
    Ear Infections….BOO!!!!

we have it all, all the time, daycare doesn’t help but I also know that their little systems are growing immune to some stuff. TG!!!

the teeth stuff is just hard, I medicate and I give them whatever they want to jam into their gums, both have the bottom two poking out but refusing to just come in and that is so frustrating. And Somewhat is right, once they crawl once and realizes it “gets them places” , OH the Places they will go..LOL.

Baby O, when did you grow up….I knew I wasn’t paying enough attention. But you are SOOOOO Cute!!!!
